S.M. Shardul Islam works as the Senior Manager, Strategy for RedOrange Limited. He studied English Literature & Language with a focus on Applied Linguistics & English Language Teaching (ALELT) from Department of English, Jahangirnagar University and is currently pursuing his Masters in Development Studies from Department of Development Studies, Bangladesh University of Professional. He has been working in RedOrange since 2023. Shardul has a very unique and diverse work experience of more than 9 years spanning Strategic Communication, Project Designing, Programme Management and Project Implementation, Trainer, Training Facilitator, Mass Communication, Marketing and Brand Communication for several organisations that includes UNICEF Bangladesh, Blue Gold Programme (EKN funded programme under the leadership of Bangladesh Water Development Board), Euroconsult Mott MacDonald, Green Development Research Consultancy (GDRC), Blue Planet Initiative (BPI), BIID Foundation, Association for Community Empowerment, etc. He has worked as Programme Management & Project Implementation Expert in several projects funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh including General Economics Division, Bangladesh Planning Commission, Ministry of Planning, Bangladesh Water Development Board, Department of Agricultural Extension, Department of Fisheries, Department of Livestock, Ministry of Planning and other development donors and partners. He has worked as a Project Implementation Lead in several projects within thematic areas like, Microfinance, Integrated Water Management, Agricultural Development, Technology Transfer, River Management, Environmental Management & Plastic recycling, Adolescent Nutrition, Woman Empowerment, SME Development, etc. He is a passionate photographer and musician. He is an endurance athlete and participated over 70 marathons and ultra marathons.
