‘Ritu’ is a Bengali word for ‘menstruation cycle’. RITU is the name of our project that aims to improve the menstrual hygiene situation for adolescent girls in Bangladesh. The project has been running since 2016.
Aim: The project aims at increased Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) awareness; an improved supportive environment towards MHM; and improved access to MHM services. As a strategic and communication partner RedOrange is creating awareness on MHM issues both at community level (project district) and at national level.
This project was co-created by RedOrange and the Dutch based international organisations Simavi and TNO, in close collaboration with the Bangladeshi NGOs DORP and BNPS. It is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
