About RedOrange Technologies
RedOrange Technologies is a new venture of RedOrange Communication – a Dutch-Bangladeshi social innovation company with over a decade of experience in behavior change, creative communications, and development sector impact.
We are building a technology company with a social soul. Our mission is to convert the trust RedOrange has earned over the years into scalable, AI-powered software products that solve real-world challenges in compliance, sustainability, and social impact.
Operating at the intersection of Dhaka and the Netherlands, we deliver world-class software at a fraction of the cost. We are not a consultancy. We are a product company – one that ships software, earns recurring revenue, and builds technology that matters.
We are looking for an SQA Engineer to join our founding engineering team and ensure that every product we ship – whether web, mobile, or API – meets the highest standards of quality, performance, and security.
Position Overview
As an SQA Engineer at RedOrange Technologies, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of our software products across the entire development lifecycle. You will work closely with developers to design test strategies, execute tests, and provide feedback to continuously improve our products.
This role requires a versatile, quality-first mindset. You will be responsible for testing:
Web applications (Laravel, React, Vue.js, WordPress)
Mobile applications (Flutter, React Native, or native)
REST APIs and third-party integrations
Security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, penetration testing)
You will not just be a tester – you will be a quality advocate who helps shape product decisions, raises testability and security questions early, and champions quality across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Test Strategy & Planning
Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans and test cases based on project requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
Define and implement quality standards, testing methodologies, and security testing protocols for the organization.
Participate in sprint planning and feature design reviews to raise testability and security risks early.
Identify test automation opportunities and build a sustainable automation framework for web, mobile, and APIs.
2. Web Application Testing
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing for web applications built on Laravel, React, Vue.js, and WordPress.
Test cross-browser and cross-device compatibility (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, etc.).
Validate responsiveness and usability across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports.
Test WordPress websites and plugins, ensuring compatibility, performance, and security.
3. Mobile Application Testing
Test mobile applications (iOS and Android) built on Flutter, React Native, or native platforms.
Perform functional, usability, compatibility, performance, and security testing on mobile apps.
Validate install/uninstall, upgrade, and compatibility across multiple devices and OS versions.
Test mobile-specific features (push notifications, camera, GPS, biometrics, offline sync, etc.).
Use real devices and emulators to ensure comprehensive coverage.
4. API Testing
Conduct REST API testing using tools like Postman, Insomnia, or SoapUI.
Validate request/response payloads, headers, authentication, and error handling.
Test API performance and load using tools like JMeter.
Ensure API security (authentication, authorization, rate limiting, input validation).
Validate third-party integrations (payment gateways, courier APIs, messaging services, etc.).
5. Security Testing
Perform security testing to identify vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications.
Conduct penetration testing (manual and automated) using tools like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or Nessus.
Validate against OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, insecure direct object references, etc.).
Test authentication and authorization controls, ensuring proper role-based access.
Validate data encryption (at rest and in transit), SSL/TLS configurations, and secure storage.
Conduct security code reviews and collaborate with developers on secure coding practices.
6. Defect Management & Reporting
Identify, document, and track defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).
Work closely with developers to reproduce, isolate, and resolve issues.
Provide clear and actionable test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.
Track defect escape rate and production incidents tied to coverage gaps.
7. Continuous Improvement
Advocate for quality and security across the organization.
Stay updated with the latest testing tools, methodologies, and security threats.
Contribute to the improvement of CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests.
Provide feedback to developers on code quality, testability, and security best practices.
