STITCH

STITCH

‘STITCH’  stands for ‘SRHR tailor-made information and training to contribute to occupational health and safety conditions of factory workers in the ready-made garments sector in Bangladesh’.

The project aims to ensure a respectable work environment for workers in the ready-made garment (RMG) sector by integrating Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) information and services. The STITCH project takes a comprehensive approach to co-design and deliver tailor-made information and training to future RMG workers and health care providers.

STITCH Project is part of the Orange Knowledge program which is funded by Nuffic. The project will run for 3 years. It started from 1st January 2019 and will conclude on December 2021 with the hopes of improving the lives of RMG workers and ensure a respectable and decent work environment that includes SRH services.

The partners in the STITCH project are Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), who is the lead in project management and direction, Directorate General of Family Planning (DGFP), RedOrange Media and Communications, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Indigenous Peoples Development Service (IPDS) and Ayat Skill Development Center (ASDC).
